📖Component 1: The Story

It is Thursday morning. The students are in class. Mr. Parker writes the days of the week on the board: Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday - Friday - Saturday - Sunday "These are the seven days of the week," says Mr. Parker. "Today is Thursday. Yesterday was Wednesday. Tomorrow is Friday!" "I like Friday!" says Amy. "We have art on Friday. I love art!" "That's wonderful, Amy," says Mr. Parker. "What about you, Peter? What is your favorite subject?" Peter thinks. "I like science," he says. "Science is interesting. We have science on Monday and Thursday." "Good choice!" says Mr. Parker. "Alejandro, what subjects do you like?" "I like English and PE," says Alejandro. "We have English every day. We have PE on Tuesday and Thursday. In Argentina, I play football on Saturday." "Football is fun!" says Peter. "Do you play on Sunday too?" "No," says Alejandro. "On Sunday, I rest. Sunday is my favorite day!" Everyone laughs. Mishiko raises her hand. "Mr. Parker, I don't like math," she says quietly. "Math is difficult." "That's okay, Mishiko," says Mr. Parker. "Not everyone likes math. What subject do you like?" "I like art and music," says Mishiko. "We have art on Friday. When is music class?" "Music is on Wednesday," says Mr. Parker. "That's yesterday! Did you enjoy it?" "Yes!" says Mishiko. She smiles. "I like music very much." Amy looks at the board. "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday... these are school days. Saturday and Sunday are weekend days!" "Exactly!" says Mr. Parker. "We have school from Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday are our days off." "I like the weekend!" says Peter. "No school on Saturday and Sunday!" "But we have homework on the weekend," says Alejandro. "Oh no!" says Peter. "I don't like homework!" Everyone laughs again. "Now," says Mr. Parker, "let's review. Peter, what day is today?" "Today is Thursday!" says Peter. "And what do we have on Thursday?" asks Mr. Parker. "We have science and PE on Thursday!" says Peter. "Perfect!" says Mr. Parker. "You are all learning so well!"

Use "on" before days of the week.
With he/she/it, add -s: "She likes…"
For negative with he/she/it: "doesn't like" (not "don't like").
